The Rail Corridor is a former railway line that stretches 24km north to south of Singapore. The future Woodlands North Coast and Greater Southern Waterfront areas will be linked by this trans-island green artery. Now a “green corridor”, it will be transformed into a community space that links 1 million people within 1km of the Rail Corridor. When the Rail Corridor is connected by 2021, it will spur the development of surrounding lands and rejuvenation of older districts.
Explore the various community nodes along the Rail Corridor below:
Singapore Racecourse together with the Kranji node will become a new recreational hub for those living in the north. Sungei Kadut will also be refreshed and house the Agri-Food Innovation Park (AFIP) cluster to support the growth of existing and new businesses in a more sustainable, clean and green setting.
The completion of the Coast-to-Coast trail, Rifle Range Nature Park and the Rail Corridor will spur rejuvenation of the former Bukit Timah Fire Station and Beauty World as gateways into the surrounding nature and heritage attractions. The public can also look forward to the opening of the nearby Hume MRT Station along Downtown Line to access these attractions.
The Rail Corridor passes through Queenstown, Singapore’s first satellite town. The area will be transformed with injection of new housing, community green spaces and Business Parks. Rail Corridor will be at the heart of community life and businesses.
